wow, 8000 characters to describe 40 years!
let's see: worked my tail off trying to BE a photographer, ended up in NYC with hubbie #1 in the late 70's, worked my way up from assistant to REAL photographer. had an amazingly successful stretch of years with my own studio, shooting primarily still-life assignments for advertising agencies. somewhere in those years I had a kid, got divorced, got remarried, had another kid and in 1998 moved to New Paltz, where I have been busy rock climbing, hiking, skiing, cooking, being mom, and trying to reinvent myself professionally, as my career, such as I knew it, no longer exists. I also have rediscovered music and several years ago, I took up piano and classical guitar. Now that I am effectively retired, or self unemployed, I don't know how I had the time to go to work. The days just aren't long enough! Several years ago we purchased a house in Liberty, Utah, where we are spending our winters, hoping it might actually snow.
